"Homo Videns"

Now streaming!

In Homo Videns, a sonic and visual universe expands, connecting the facets previously explored in “Entre Fantasmas,” “[unb0rn],” and “Medulla.” The album captures the introspective and dark elements of the first, the social critique of the second, and the philosophical concerns of the third, integrating them into a more mature and cohesive work. The steampunk aesthetic present in the music videos —especially in the singles “Let’s Bring the System Down,” “The Calling,” and “Swallow Your Lies”— reinforces this hybrid world of industrial decay, broken future, and humanity on the brink of collapse.

The lyrics form a continuous narrative where each track functions as a chapter within a larger story: a mind awakening, doubting, confronting the system, breaking, and rising again. From the existential confusion of “CTRL,” the information overload in “Dopamine,” and the spiritual questions in “The Calling,” to the emotional self-critique in “Ashes,” the direct confrontation of the system in “Swallow Your Lies,” and the internal reconciliation in “My Shadow,” everything reflects a deliberate emotional and philosophical evolution. The story progresses toward a climax marked by conflict (“The Chosen”) and concludes with resistance and hope in “A Last Stand” and “Ending Theme.”

Musically, Homo Videns showcases a spectrum of sounds ranging from darkwave to dark synthpop, with industrial pulses and cyberpunk atmospheres. “Clockwork” opens the journey with a somber tone; “Reboot” and “On My Way” evoke futuristic journeys; “Dopamine” recalls the vibe of “Medulla”; “The Calling” embraces deep darkwave; “Ashes” combines influences from Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails; “Swallow Your Lies” adopts a rough, critical synthpop; while “Ante Bellum,” “In Progress,” and “Let’s Bring the System Down” deliver the martial, distorted energy that drives the album’s conceptual rebellion. The result is an immersive journey where sound, lyrics, and aesthetics converge to tell a story.

About the project

Foto de perfil

Serpentis is a musical project that blends electronic music with rock influences, crafting a sound that evokes emotional darkness and synthetic aesthetics across genres such as synthpop, darkwave, and industrial. The project moves between cyberpunk atmospheres and ethereal soundscapes, creating a sonic identity that balances mechanical energy with introspective sensitivity.

Its compositions stand out not only for their sonic texture, but also for their conceptual depth, exploring themes of identity, consciousness, and inner conflict. Through lyrics that question the ego, perception of reality, and sense of belonging, the project invites listeners into an introspective journey where personal transformation emerges as a necessary process.

At the same time, its message adopts a critical stance toward contemporary social, political, and cultural structures. Themes such as media manipulation, loss of individuality, and the illusion of progress are approached from a reflective and confrontational perspective, positioning Serpentis as a voice that not only creates atmospheres, but also seeks to awaken awareness.
